The Elections Commission of the Maldives (EC) has released the list of eligible voters ahead of the upcoming Presidential Election in September.

Vice President of the commission, Ismail Habeeb revealed via a tweet today that the list consists of 282,755 eligible voters which includes those who turn 18 by September 9th. He added that the list is now available through their website and that it will also be available through councils.

A statement by the EC on Wednesday noted that they are currently working on establishing a registry for eligible voters, further noting that the current list has been publicized in order to verify the list of names.

EC has opened for complaints regarding the list till May 31st.

The commission revealed that the complaints should be filed accordingly using the necessary form, which are available via their website and secretariat. Forms are accepted in office during working hours or via email at [email protected].

The Presidential Election is scheduled for September 9th.
