India and Maldives have agreed on further exploring different avenues such as counter terrorism, disaster management, cyber security, and maritime security.

The agreement was made during Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh's courtesy call to Defence Minister Mariyam Didi as part of his ongoing visit to the Maldives.

The meeting took place at MNDF headquarters, Bandaara Koshi, on Monday, where the Ministers discussed the regional and global security challenges.

Both Ministers highlighted the importance of working together to face such challenges, and asserted that both nations would provide mutual support in this regard.

Minister Mariyam highlighted the assistance provided by India to the government and people of Maldives, and expressed gratitude.

The meeting was also attended by the Chief of Defense Force Major General Abdulla Shamaal, Deputy Defense Minister Hassan Zameel, Vice Chief of Defense Force Brigerida General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef .
