Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has revealed that they have commenced Meemu Airport Runway ABC works on 27 April 2023.

According to the company, the Fire building works are ongoing, with 90% completion.

Project works involve, reclamation operations of 14 hectares; coastal protection operations of 1,812m; construction of a 1200m x 30m runway; taxiway and an apron.

The value of the project is MVR 230.10 million.
