Manta Air has added a new seaplane to its fleet.
Manta Air announced the arrival of the seaplane via Twitter on Saturday. "We are delighted to announce the arrival of our newest addition to the fastest growing seaplane fleet in the Maldives," the tweet read.
Last December, the airline made an announcement seeking 12 aircraft. Manta Air noted that they were looking for DHC Twin Otters.
Marketing & Communication Manager of Manta Air, Mubeen Jaleel revealed to One Online that expanding the Manta Air network has always been a goal of the airline. He added that their goal is to further expand their capacity to serve their customers and operate in even more areas in the country.
Mubeen further revealed that there are five aircraft ordered to be brought within the year and that the 12 other aircraft are in addition to that. He also highlighted that with the expanding fleet, they will also be expanding their operations to more areas.
Manta Air, which began seaplane services in 2019 now has a total of 16 seaplanes in their fleet.
