Urbanco has stated that they are not distributing any housing units from the mixed-residential projects among their employees, claiming that the viral list is fake.

A Twitter account by the name 'Hassan Kurusee' had allegedly exposed Urbanco after publishing a list of senior officials who had purchased 34 flats from mixed residential projects in the suburb. The account had also published a memo from Urbanco which detailed the purchasers to be their senior officials, along with details of the sale.

A statement issued by Urbanco refuted the claims, stating that the list is a complete fabrication. They further highlighted that some media agencies failed to fact-check the information with Urbanco before their media reports, and had raised questions on the ethics of those media after failing to include a comment from the corporation.

Urbanco further alleged that such lies are being spread to defame them and to create mistrust towards them.

On the sale of the mixed-residential projects, Urbanco stated that they had opened to sell the slots for all their employees on April 20th. They highlighted that these units are awarded to Urbanco under an agreement after having provided the contractors with the land to develop these projects. Under the same scheme, they had opened for the sale of similar units last year as well.

They had once again opened for the sale of these units as they were yet to be purchased and in an attempt to provide the opportunity for those who were looking for it.

Urbanco further revealed that some 800 employees were eligible to purchase the units, hence the works will undergo through a set of guidelines under a separate portal.
