Maldives Broadcasting Commission (Broadcom) has stated that their order to cease streaming platform 'Baiskoafu' services was an administrative error.
A letter sent to ECom Exchange Managing Director Mohamed Mirsha noted that the service fell under rebroadcasting services, which can only be provided in the Maldives with the proper licenses. Hence, the letter had asked to cease the services of Baiskoafu immediately.
Broadcom President Mariyam Waheeda revealed to One Online today that the letter was sent by an administrative error. She cleared that they were seeking to cease rebroadcasting by Baiskoafu and not to cease the services of Baiskoafu itself.
She further revealed that Baiskoafu had requested for a meeting, which was later cancelled by them as well.
