Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has warned caution in the use of two medicines.
MFDA revealed that Pharm Evo Pharmaceuticals had revealed a recall of Telsarta 40 (Telmisartan) Batch 2B151 due to brown spots being present on the tablets. While this medicine is a commonly imported medicine to the Maldives, MFDA noted that the faulty batch of medicines has not been imported to the Maldives.
However, they warned caution against the medicine for those who seek treatment abroad.
In addition to this, MFDA revealed that a WHO alert has revealed that falsified batches of Defitelio (Defibrotide Sodium) have been spotted in United Arab Emirates and Kyrgystan.
Even though this medicine is not imported into the Maldives, MFDA had warned caution against the medicine for those who seek treatment abroad and import medicines for specific prescriptions,
