National Airline, Maldivian, has opened proposal submissions to lease additional ATR aircrafts.

In an announcement made on Sunday, Maldivian stated that the airline is looking for 5 ATR 42-600 aircrafts.

Three of the aircrafts will be leased under an operating lease, to be brought to Maldives later this year or early next year. The remaining two aircrafts will be brought during the first quarter of 2025 under a financial lease.

Maldivian said the aircrafts will be leased for a period of 6-12 years under the operating lease, and the aircrafts under financial lease will be leased for over 12 years.

Proposal submissions are open until 2359hrs on 4 May 2023. The best 3 proposals will be selected and announced by 21 May, the airline said.

Maldivian recently added 3 ATR aircrafts to their fleet - 2 ATR 72-600 aircrafts and one ATR 72-400 aircraft.
