Supreme Court has nullified the injunction order on terminating and handing over the Water Theme Park Project.

Urbanco decided to terminate the agreement with Waterfront Hotel & Leisure Company last month, which was contracted in 2017 to develop a Water Park and 6-Storey Leisure Hotel in Hulhumale’

Waterfront Hotel & Leisure Company however challenged the decision at the Civil Court and is seeking an injunction on HDC’s decision.

Civil Court had previously noted that an injunction on the decision will affect the verdict in the case, as questions have been raised regarding the agreement period. They further added that Waterfront Hotel & Leisure Company had failed to prove any substantial proof to their claim noting that a handover before a verdict would result in irrevocable damages.

High Court had however issued an injunction order in favor of Waterfront Hotel & Leisure Company, ordering HDC to halt on their order to terminate the agreement and take over the land until a verdict is reached by the court.

HDC contested the order at Supreme Court. The latter nullified the injunction order, stating that the injunction was not issued lawfully.
