The total number of tourist arrivals this year has surpassed 600,000.

Statistics published by the Tourism Ministry show that by Wednesday last week, a total of 592,605 tourists have arrived in the Maldives. Averaging at 5,810 arrivals daily, this is a 20% increase compared to this time last year.

On average daily arrivals have been recorded on average stay of 8 days. A total of 68,677 tourist arrivals have been recorded in April so far.

Russia still leads as the source market, with 71,989 tourist arrivals, with India following behind in second place.
