MIFCO on Thursday has brought a new fish weighing vessel as part of the company's efforts to increase their freezing and storage capacity.

Jazeera 103 is one of the four fish weighing vessels bought by MIFCO as part of their efforts to increase their capacity. MIFCO said the vessel can weigh 120 metric tonnes of fish daily and has a storage capacity of 420 metric tonnes.

MIFCO has previously stated that the purchase and registration of the additional three vessels have been completed. The vessels are docked in Thailand for the final upgrades before being brought to Maldives. The vessels have a capacity to weigh 60 tonnes of fish daily, MIFCO said.

MIFCO is also working on establishing centres across the nation to ease the purchase of fish from fishermen.
