Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to protect the rights and integrity lost due to corruption.

The MoU was signed on behalf of ACC by president Adam Shamil and HRCM's president Mariyam Muna at a ceremony held at ACC on Wednesday.

"Under the MoU, the institutions will be working together to protect the human rights of people and ensure that integrity is prioritised," ACC said.

The institutions will work together to create awareness against corruption and also provide trainings to the staff at the respective institutions.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, ACC's member Thoha Mohamed stated that this MoU will significantly assist in the works that the two institutions do.
