Housing Minister Mohamed Aslam has stated that the application forms for land plots to be given from Malé region will likely be processed by coming June.

The Minister's statement came in response to a question by lawmaker Ahmed Saleem regarding the current stage of housing provision by the government.

Aslam revealed that a special committee is currently evaluating all applications and that they will report as soon as the evaluations are complete.

Under the government schemes to address the housing crisis in Male', a total of 5,000 land plots and 4,000 housing units will be awarded to applicants.

Over 15,000 applications were filed for land plots while over 14,000 applications were filed for flats.
