Parliamentary Committee on Independent Institutions has approved two of the names submitted by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, to be appointed to the Broadcasting Commission (BroadCom).

After research and interview regarding the law and regulations, the committee approved the appointment of either Shiham or Sofa to the commission. The committee has now submitted the motion to the parliament floor.

Both names were unanimously approved by all nine members of the committee who were present. The parliament will now decide on a member to appoint to the commission between the two approved names.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had sent four names to the parliament, ahead of member Amjad Ibrahim's end of term.
