A fire broke out at a building in Kaafu Atoll Thilafushi on Friday.

A Media Official at Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) revealed to One Online that they had received a report of a fire incident in Thilafushi around 12:45pm today.

The official noted that the Thilafushi Fire Station was working on controlling the fire, and that further details remained unclear yet.

MNDF noted that while 80 percent of the fire has now been contained, the ground floor was being used to store woods while the first floor of the building was being used as an accommodation block.

MNDF further added that no one was injured during the incident.
