Maldives has banned eye drops flagged by United Stated Food and Drug Authority (US FDA).

Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) banned eye drops manufactured by America's Global Pharma's EzriCare Artificial Tears, Pharmedica USA's 15% MSM eye drops, Apotex Corp's Brimonidine Tartrate Ophthalmic Solution and Global Pharma Healthcare's Artificial Eye Ornament.

MFDA stated that these are not in the approved for import and sale in the Maldives. As such, MFDA issued an alert regarding the brands, highlighting that there is a chance these brands might have been imported and available for sale.

MFDA added that the Authority will be closely monitoring the imports of medicine.
