President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has ordered the dismissal of Hussain Amr as the Managing Director of State Trading Organisation (STO).

Confirming the news to One Online, Spokesperson at the President's Office, Miuvan Mohamed stated that changes to state-owned enterprises are made quite often. He noted that the dismissal of Amr was just part of their routine changes and nothing special.

President Solih has decided to remove him from the Board of Directors of STO and dismiss him as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director of STO.

While President Solih has decided to dismiss Amr from STO, he had supported President Solih's opponent, Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed during the MDP Presidential Primary. Amr is also active in 'Fikuregge Dhirun', the branch of MDP headed by Nasheed.
