Elections Commission of the Maldives (EC) has opened for opportunities for foreign observers and monitors to observe the upcoming 2023 Presidential Election.
An announcement by the commission highlighted that foreign observers and monitors should email the commission seeking permission to observe the 2023 Presidential Election. All requests should be sent before July 25th, as per the announceament.
To become a foreign observer, the observer must be over 18 years old and a representative of an organisation. The person must also be free from any influence, and should not be supporting any of the competing candidates.
The EC also noted that they will allow foreign observers to meet with the political parties and presidential candidates as per the set rules and regulations.
