STO to bring in coconut shipment to control prizes

State Trading Organization (STO) has decided to import a shipment of coconuts to control the prize of coconut in the market during Ramadan.

STO's Managing Director Hussain Amr Tweeted on Wednesday that the coconut shipment will arrive on 27 March.

"We are working on controlling the prize of produce during this Ramadan," Amr said.

Coconut prizes in the market are between MVR 10-30 at present.

STO has also brought in a shipment of lime to sell at MVR 60 per kg to control the prizes during Ramadan.
