NIC to investigate the security breach on President Solih's motorcade

National Integrity Commission (NIC) will investigate the security breach on President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's motorcade during the opposition's protest on Monday night.

The incident occurred near PPM office while President Solih was on his way to Hulhumale' for the Rehendhi Award event.

The protestors blocked the motorcade from passing, causing the latter to turn around and take a different route.

NIC Tweeted on Wednesday that the commission will be investigating the role of Police in President's security and whether there was any police negligence leading up to the incident.

Police on Tuesday submitted an incident report to President Solih regarding the incident, and Defence Ministry will also submit a report on the incident.
