Parliament Committee on National Security is set to investigate the incident where the motorcade carrying President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was was blocked by protestors from PPM and PNC last night.

The President was returning Malé after having participated in an event to commemorate International Women's Day at the Umar Zahir Office Complex in Hulhumalé.

Head of Committee and MDP PG Leader, Mohamed Aslam revealed to One Online that the issue will be investigated proactively by the committee, adding that it is part of their mandate.

Last nights incident marks the first time a presidential motorcade was blocked during a protest in the country.

The motorcade carrying President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih was going through Boduthakurufaanu Magu near PPM office before it was blocked by protestors.
