President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has conferred 'Rehendhi' Award to six recipients and Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC).

President Solih conferred the awards at a function held at Umar Zahir Building in Hulhumale' on Monday night in conjunction with the International Women's Day 2023.First Lady Fazna Ahmed awarded brooches to the recipients.

The 'Rehendhi' Award recipients this year are:

  • Rugiyya Ibrahim - Leadership and Governance
  • Aminath Ibrahim - Social Empowerment
  • Husna Fahmy - Social Empowerment
  • Zeena Zahir - Social Empowerment
  • Rashida Ibrahim - Social Empowerment
  • Aishath Shimaanee - Non-Traditional Role
  • MTCC - Institutional Gender Mainstreaming

Rehendhi Award - officially introduced in 2014 - is aimed at recognizing the contributions of women in different categories at a national level.
