Fenaka Corporation has announced that measures will be taken to temporarily remedy the issue of electricity at Addu City. As such, the company has announced that 2 gensets with 1.2 Megawatts and 800 Kilowatt as well as two transformers with 2000 Kilowatts and 1500 Kilowatts will be transported to Addu City.

The announcement was made via a press statement by the Fenaka Corporation today. The statement reiterated that one of the generators in the set of 2 Megawatt generators used to provide electricity at Addu City had experienced technical difficulties from 20 March onwards. Fenaka further explained that it is due to these difficulties that the electricity goes out at times when there is a higher load throughout Addu City.

The statement noted that while engineers of Fenaka as well as STELCO had acted a few moments after the issue arose, a solution could not be attended immediately. This was due to a solution requiring the assistance of the engineers that supplied the genset.

Fenaka further assured that efforts to bring in these engineers are also underway.

As such, the Corporation said that a permanent solution to issues of electricity at Addu City would include providing services that equal the increasing demand for electricity.

Fenaka further said that they are looking to install a 4 Megawatt generator as well as two, two Megawatt generators in Addu City in the near future.

The statement by Fenaka Corporation noted, and expressed gratitude for the cooperation provided by State institutions as well as the direct input of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in resolving the issue of electricity faced by Addu City.
