Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has opened applications for the Chief Judge at the Criminal Court.

An announcement by the JSC noted that applications are only open for judges who are appointed to and currently working at the Criminal Court. Applications are open until April 3rd, 12:00pm.

The basic salary for the position is MVR 31,000 with a living allowance of MVR 15,000 and a risk allowance of MVR 3,300. In addition to this, a phone allowance and health insurance as decided by the parliament.

The seat was left vacant after the previous judge, Ahmed Shakeel was appointed to the High Court by the JSC
