Discussions on establishing an Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been carried out between the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Ambassador of UAE to Maldives, Dr. Saeed Mohamed Ali Al Shamsi.
The talks were held during a ceremony held at the President’s Office yesterday to mark the presenting of documents if Mabassadorshio to President Solih.
The President’s Office has reported that broad discussions were held on establishing an embassy if the United Arab Emirates in Maldives during the meeting. Ambassador Dr. Saeed Mohamed Ali Al Shamsi expressed his gratitude towards efforts taken by the Maldivian government and especially the Ministry kf Foreign Affairs, in seeking a location for the Embassy.
The Ambassador further expressed an interest in strengthening ties between UAE and Maldives in areas of business, air travel as well as tourism in Maldives during this meeting.
He also said that he was truly grateful for the warm welcome he received upon his arrival in Maldives. Ambassador Dr. Saeed Mohamed Ali Al Shamsi also expressed his hope that the strength between two nations will be further strengthened in the coming years.
