Tourist arrivals cross 400,000 mark, 25 percent growth

The total number of tourist arrivals this year has crossed the 400,000 mark.

According to the statistics released by the Tourism Ministry, the number of arrivals to date is 417,070 which marks a 24.9 percent increase in comparison to last year.

Russia is currently the top source market with over 50,000 arrivals. India, which was the top market for last year comes in a close second with over 45,000 arrivals.

Top 5 source markets for 2023 so far:

1. Russia - 52,291

2. India - 45,438

3. UK - 39,089

4. Italy - 37,394

5. Germany- 27,955

On average 6,060 daily arrivals have been recorded on average stay of 7.8 days.
