Government of Maldives has stated there are no plans to begin scheduled flights between Israel and Maldives.

President's Spokesperson Miuvan Mohamed made the remarks while speaking to the press at a press conference on Thursday, following comments by Chief Executive of Israel's national airline, 'El Al Israel Airline', in an interview with Reuters.

The airline's Chief Executive told Reuters that the airline is considering direct flights to the Maldives.

"Maldives and Israel have no business relations anymore. As such, there will be no such arrangements between the countries," Miuvan said.
