Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has opened applications for High Court Chief Judge.

The seat was left vacant after Hathif Hilmy retired as a judge. The court is currently being run by Judge Hussain Shaheed in the interim.

JSC noted that the opportunity to apply for the position is currently open to the current judges at the court.

Applications for the role will be open till March 20th. A High Court Chief Judge receives MVR 56,000 as a salary with allowances.

Apart from the High Court, applications are also open for the Chief Judge of the Civil Court.
