Maldives has recorded the highest tourist arrival in a February this year, marking a new record high for the country.

The statistics released by the Tourism Ministry have revealed that a total of 178,933 tourist arrivals were recorded during the month of February this year. This marks a record high for a month of February in terms of the total number of arrivals.

It marks a 20 percent increase in the number of arrivals in comparison to the same period last year. February 2022 recorded a total of 149,011 tourist arrivals. February 2021 recorded 96,882 arrivals while February 2020 recorded 149,788 arrivals and February 2019 recorded 168,583 tourist arrivals.

While an average of 6,390 arrivals were recorded during the month of February, a total of 351,432 arrivals have been recorded so far this year.
