Jumhooree Party (JP) Leader Qasim Ibrahim on Wednesday refuted rumors that he has been demanding a sovereign guarantee through which his businesses are to receive large amounts of loans as a condition to sustain the current ruling coalition with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Qasim met with the President this morning at the President's Office.

Speaking to reporters outside the President's Office after the meeting, Qasim revealed that the discussions with President Solih revolved around the coalition and current politics. He further refuted rumors of demanding a sovereign guarantee.

He further stressed that no deal was made during the meeting with President Solih.

Qasim also stated that the national council of JP will decide whether to compete at this year's election, adding that he is not interested in those discussions as of yet.
