Jumhooree Party (JP) leader and Maamigili constituency MP Qasim Ibrahim has met with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The meeting takes place amidst talk that Qasim and Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed have agreed on forming a coalition for September's Presidential Elections.

President Solih had previously sent a letter to all the coalition parties inviting them for discussions on coalition and elections. As such, Adaalat and MDA have already joined President Solih in coalition for the elections.

However, JP's congress advised on contesting for the elections separately. However, JP has not announced a presidential candidate as of yet.
