Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has sent six charges to Prosecutor General (PG) Office to be brought forward against former MNDF Major Ibrahim Naveen Zubair in relation to the MMPRC corruption scandal.
ACC's investigation report shows Major Naveen received USD 100,000 from SOF.
In a message to the media on Monday, ACC said the offences include accepting bribery, requesting for bribe, agreeing to accept bribe, misuse of power in the position of an MNDF captain for the benefit of another person, using proceeds of crimes of bribery and money laundering.
ACC has also ordered MMPRC to recover the USD 100,000 from Major Naveen.
While Major Naveen was suspended over the corruption case in March 2019, he was reinstated to his job in August 2019 and promoted to a Lieutenant Colonel in November of the same year.
