Adhaalat Party (AP) has decided to support President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih for the Presidential Elections.

AP in a statement issued on Wednesday night said that the party has held discussions with Maldives Democratic Party (MDP) on a way forward with a coalition and have accepted MDP's invitation to support President Solih.

AP said that the party will work together with MDP to compile a manifesto that is in the best interest of Islam and the betterment of society.

AP added that the party reached a consensus after considering their experience with the various political parties and governments over the years as well.

While AP has made the decision to support President Solih in the elections, MDP is currently in talks with Jumhooree Party to secure a coalition.
