Adhaalath Party (AP) has decided to discuss plans of forming a coalition with Maldives Democratic Party (MDP).

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had recently sent a letter to all of the leaders of the existing coalition, inviting them for discussions on sustaining the coalitions. AP held a meeting on Monday night following the letter, after which they released a statement regarding their decision.

In the statement, Adhaalath noted that they have decided to discuss plans of a coalition with MDP before they support their presidential candidate, President Solih.

President of Adhaalath Party and Minister of Home Affairs, Imran Abdulla has been noted as one of the personalities who support and praise the current administration on and off social media.

Representatives of President Solih had recently met up with Jumhooree Party (JP) leader as well. They had described the meeting as hopeful, adding that the details of it will be shared at a later time.
