A total of 12 members are competing for the role of Deputy Leader of Jumhooree Party (JP) along with the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Aishath Nahula.
While the party is set to elect members to the senior ranks of the party during the National Congress set for coming Friday, Maamigilli Member of Parliament Qasim Ibrahim is competing for the role of Leader. Qasim has remained the leader of JP since it's inception.
Since there were no other contenders, Qasim was appointed party leader by default.

- Immigration Controller Mohamed Ahmed Hussain (Hanafy)
- State Minister Hassan Mugunee
- Qasim's Executive Secretary Iqbal Adam
- Vice President of JP Ahmed Saud
- Former South Thinadhoo MP Abdulla Ahmed
- Former Transport Minister Ameen Ibrahim
- Former North Fuvahmulah MP Ali Shah
- Former Keyodhoo MP Moosa Nizar Ibrahim
- Isdhoo MP Ali Hameed
- Yashfa Abdul Ghanee
N. Velidhoo Aman Abdulla was the sole contender for the President of the Youth League at the new council being formed during the congress. Ma. Blackpool Shuaib Shifaz was the only contender for the Vice President of the Youth League, while five candidates are competing for the President of Women's League and four are competing for Vice President.
The national congress of JP will take place on February 24 and February 25. The party is set to make important decisions regarding the upcoming 2023 Presidential Election during the congress.
