President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih conferred the National Award for Public Service to 86 public servants on Thursday.
The Awards were conferred at a special ceremony held at Dharubaaruge on Thursday night.
The National Award for Public Service is conferred to individuals who have been serving the nation for over 35 years.
Sobira Waheed was conferred the National Award for Public Service for serving more than 50 years at the Malé Water and Sewerage Company Ltd. (MWSC).
The recipients of the National Award included civil servants who had served in various capacities in government offices and institutions.
Speaking at the function, President Solih extended his congratulations to the recipients.
Hawwa Nasiha, Chief Librarian at the National Library, addressed the ceremony on behalf of the recipients.
