Managing Director of State Trading Organization (STO), Hussain Amr has revealed that the company is currently working on developing a shopping mall in Hulhumale' Phase 2.

Following a Twitter user's request to open an STO outlet in Phase 2 since most of the shops had higher prices in the highly populated area, Amr revealed that they will be opening a shopping mall in Phase 2 in the future. However, he did not reveal any further details of the project.

STO's Corporate Branding Officer Yoosuf Shah revealed to One Online that they will be signing with Housing Development Corporation (HDC) for the land where the mall will be developed. Further details of this project will be released then.

While the company is working on opening a shopping mall in Phase 2, they had brought major renovations to their People's Choice, rebranding it as a supermart last year. They are also turning their outlet in Hulhumale' Phase 1 into a cashierless outlet, with the aim of opening it by March.
