The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that tourist visa on arrival will be made available at Thailand, for all Maldivian nationals.

The Ministry said in a statement released today that a 30 day visa on arrival will be provided for Maldivian nationals, starting from April 14.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid had posted a tweet, expressing his gratitude to the government of Thailand, on this arrangement.

The Ministry stated that they will be working hard on ensuring ease of travel for Maldivians. As such, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also announced that in addition to Thailand, the Ministry is currently working on plans to provide the opportunity for Maldivian nationals travelling to northern Asia as well.
