Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has revealed that the state revenue totaled up to MVR 3.40 billion during the month of January, the highest ever recorded during a single month.
As per the Monthly Revenue Calculation Report published by MIRA, the revenue collected during the month of January had increased by 43.1 percent in comparison to the same period last year.
According to the authority, the increase in revenue was supported by an increase in GST, Income Tax, Airport Development Fee, Tourism Land Lease, and Green Tax.
As such, GST contributed MVR 1.62 billion while Income Tax contributed MVR 1.30 billion to the state revenue. Green Tax income was at MVR 100.79 million and Tourism Land Lease was at MVR 94.04 million.
Airport Development Fee totaled MVR 89.60 million while MVR 198.63 million via other sources of income.
