Local doctor, Dr. Mohamed Ali has departed to Turkey to provide medical assistance to those injured in Monday’s earthquake.

Dr. Mohamed Ali posted on social media on Thursday night that Maldives is always at the forefront when it comes to providing aid to those in need. He is traveling to Turkey with the International Aid Campaign (IAC).

He had previously visited a Rohingya refugee camp last October with IAC as well.

Turkey’s death toll following Monday’s earthquake has risen to 18,342 while death toll in Syria has risen to 3,377. The number of injured stand at 74,000 and is believed likely to increase.
