Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed has stated that the upcoming Presidential Elections is a golden opportunity for Jumhooree Party Leader Qasim Ibrahim.

Nasheed made the remarks in a message shared with MDP's congress members.

In his messages, Nasheed said that Qasim will not form a coalition with President Solih this time, which was met with some criticism from the congress members in President Solih's faction.

"You are deceiving President Solih, but the public opinion is very different on this matter. This is a golden opportunity for Qasim Ibrahim," Nasheed stated in his messages.

He added that he is certain Qasim will not support President Solih this time.
