The Ministry of Tourism has revealed that over 42,000 tourist arrivals were recorded during the first week of this month.

The number of tourist arrivals has been at an all-time high since the new year began. As such, over 172,000 arrivals were recorded during the month of January, which is a record peak in comparison to the past two years.

As per the statistics published by the Ministry, 42,449 tourist arrivals were recorded within the first week of February. This marks a 33 percent growth in comparison to the same period in 2022, and almost a fifty percent increase in comparison to 2021.

Total number of arrivals this year has reached 214,985 so far. This also marks an increase of 31 percent in comparison to 2022.

While over 6,000 arrivals were recorded daily on average, they spent an average of 8.1 days in the Maldives.
