Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has successfully concluded its apprenticeship program in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Youth.
A total of 72 apprentices took part in the apprenticeship program.
Those who completed the program were awarded. certificates during a ceremony held on Wednesday. This marks the fifth apprenticeship program conducted by the corporation.
HDC highlighted that a total of 72 were trained in 10 different fields during the program which lasted for a total of four months. They were awarded an MQA Level 3 certificate during the ceremony on Wednesday.
The fields that apprentices were trained under the program include gardening, masonry works, welding techniques, plumbing, carpentry, electrical installation, and maintenance, heavy vehicle operation, building maintenance, construction site supervision, and refrigeration and air-conditioning.
The apprenticeship program was carried out as part of the government's National Apprenticeship Program, in collaboration with Youth Ministry and Economic Ministry. The program was carried out with financial support from the World Bank's 'Covid-19 Emergency Income Support Project', with the Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT) overseeing the program.
