Parliament is set for its inaugural sitting tomorrow, where President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will deliver his Presidential Address.

The Parliament Administration revealed that the sitting will begin at 9:00am.

According to Article 84 of the Constitution, the President is required to give his annual presidential address at the first meeting of the Parliament each year. In this address, he will inform the Parliament of the Maldives' current situation, including its successes and difficulties, as well as his plans for the future of the nation.

The Parliament Administration further added that the sitting will begin with Speaker Mohamed Nasheed, after which he will request the President to deliver his address. Following the address, the Speaker will conclude the sitting for the day.

The Parliament concluded the last session for 2022 on November 28th, after having completed 54.7 percent of tasks.

The government also declared tomorrow as a government holiday.
