The Ministry of Health has signed with a Singaporean company to monitor the quality of Pharmaceutical standards in Maldives.
The quality check of pharmaceutical hoods available in Maldives was one of the 100 day pledges of President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The Ministry informed that Singaporean company, TÜV SÜD PSB Pte. Ltd will offer assistance in conducting medical tests carried out at the National Health Laboratory.
The contract was signed to ensuring through monitoring, that the pharmaceuticals available in Maldives are trusted, good quality and upto international standards. The company will also be bringing improvements to the regulations at the Food and Drug Authority.
The Ministry of Health has announced that the tests used for monitoring pesticide levels in food will also be made easier through the company’s services. Additionally, the company fits into the World Health Organization standards and provides laboratory services to over 1000 locations.
The agreement with this Singaporean company will serve to broaden the work at the National Health Laboratory. The Ministry informed that the agreement will also facilitate the administration of tests that are typically not available at the National Health Laboratory.
