A Maldivian man has gone missing in Cochin, India, after traveling for medical reasons.
The missing man has been identified as Mohamed Mahudhee, 35, Farishtha/K. Thulusdhoo.
Mahudhee's sister Aminath Arshee told 'One' that Mahudhee went missing around 0900hrs on Tuesday morning. He traveled to India with a brother-in-law, Arshee said.
"My brother suffers from Bipolar Disorder. He went to Amrita Hospital in Cochin for medical assessments. He refused to see a doctor and ran away this morning and hasn't been found yet," she said.
She said that the incident has been reported to Indian police authorities and brought to the attention of Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well. She added that footage from the CCTVs around the hospital has been reviewed but they have not yet found him.
Foreign Ministry's Communication Strategist Safaath Ahmed Zahir told 'One' that the Ministry is monitoring the situation closely.
