Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has said B. Kamadhoo Harbour Reconstruction Project is currently underway.

MTCC said the first shipment of rock boulders have been delivered to the project site, and the quay wall block installation works have reached 90% completion.

MTCC added that the new harbour basin dredging variation works have reached 92% completion.

Scope of work for the project include, harbour basin dredging and excavation operations of 30,933 cbm, channel dredging operations of 5,085 cbm, construction of a 181m breakwater, a 656m revetment, a 392m quay wall, installation of harbour pavement, construction of a ramp, installation of a scouring apron, and installation of navigational and harbour lights.

The project is valued at MVR 53.6 million.
