Maldives Democratic Party (MDP) members began a historic vote on the Presidential Primary this morning, where the party will decide on a candidate to contest at the 2023 Presidential Election.
Former President Mohamed Nasheed is facing off against President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih in the election, where they both had launched many verbal criticisms at each other during the campaign.
According to the information disclosed by the party, 87 ballot boxes would be placed in Male' CIty while 192 ballot boxes would be placed in the Atolls.
Ballot boxes in Male' City would be placed at Ameeniyya School, MNU, CHSE, Iskandhar School, Maafannu School, Izzudin School, Thaajuddin School, Hiriya School, Muhiyiddin School, and Rehendhi School.
MDP noted that there are 57,000 eligible voters for the primary. They added that the primary voting would begin from 9:00am onwards till 5:00pm.
