Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has begun the cleaning of land plots in Hulhumale' which will be given under the 'Binveriyaa' scheme for residents of Male'.

Binveriyaa is part of the government's efforts to solve the housing crisis in Male' City, and is part of their larger 'Gedhoruveriyaa' project. Under the scheme, land plots will be given from Hulhumale and Gulhifalhu.

Under the scheme a total of 3,750,000 sqft of land will be given, of which 1,250,000 sqft will be given from Hulhumale. This includes 1,000 plots of 1,250 sqft.

Managing Director of HDC Ahmed Athif revealed that they are currently working on cleaning the area and establishing boundary lines while the evaluation of the applications for the scheme are being completed.

While the land plots are to be given from various areas of Hulhumale Phase 2, HDC has begun cleaning up two areas while utility works are ongoing.
