Will develop a resort in Fuvahmulah City: Nasheed

MDP's president Mohamed Nasheed has said he will develop a resort in Fuvahmulah City.

Nasheed made the remarks during his visit to Fuvahmulah City as part of his ongoing MDP Primary campaign. He said that in his tenure, Fuvahmulah Airport will be developed and the surrounding seaside area will be allocated for tourism.

Nasheed added that the area was not developed for tourism as was planned prior to his first term as president. He noted that MDP's 2018 manifesto included the development of tourism in Fuvahmulah City.

"I assure you that we will begin works on resort development in the area in November," Nasheed said.

Speaking to the residents, Nasheed highlighted that it is the residents who have put Fuvahmulah City on the map through their own labour. He added that in his tenure, the administration will develop a different concept for Fuvahmulah and market the City to the world.

Nasheed further noted that MDP's ideology is one that prioritises the betterment of the people.
